Due to EU directives, implemented in Austria in the Austrian Banking Act (BWG), every credit institution that accepts deposits requiring collateral or provides securities services requiring collateral is legally obliged to belong to a protection scheme.
VakifBank International AG is a member of Einlagensicherung AUSTRIA GesmbH . The company guarantees as a protection scheme the payout of deposits up to a maximum amount of EUR 100,000. For your information you can get the legal text with all details in our branch.
The exemptions from deposit protection and investor compensation can be found in § 10 para. 1 no. 3 and § 47 para. 2 ESAEG.
